The Ministry of Education has approved the procedure for conducting interviews with graduates of specialized classes

The Ministry of Education has approved the Instructions on the procedure for conducting interviews with graduates of specialized classes in Belarusian schools. This is provided for by departmental resolution No. 17 dated February 12, 2024, officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, reports BELTA.

The document establishes the procedure for conducting interviews for admission without entrance examinations with applicants who have expressed a desire to enter a university to obtain higher education, including in accordance with the agreement on the targeted training of specialists with general higher and special higher education. The interview is conducted to identify the personal, business qualities, abilities and motivation of applicants to obtain higher education in the relevant specialties.

According to the instructions, applicants who have completed training in specialized classes are allowed for an interview if they have marks in their education document of at least 8 points in academic subjects corresponding to the subjects of specialized tests, marks of at least 7 points in all other academic subjects, as well as recommendations of the pedagogical council the school they graduated from. At the same time, for specialized classes of an agricultural orientation, they will be allowed to interview if they have marks in the educational document of at least 6 points in academic subjects corresponding to the subjects of specialized tests. To participate in the interview, the applicant must submit an application to the admissions committee of the higher education institution.

Interview tasks are drawn up annually by a university commission; their content must fully reflect the content of the school's specialized electives. The test is carried out orally. Based on its results, the commission makes a decision on whether the applicant passes or fails the interview; the result is announced immediately after completion of the test. In case of disagreement with the result, the applicant or his legal representative may file an appeal.

The resolution comes into force after its official publication.
