The eighth extraordinary session of the Regional Council of Deputies was held in Vitebsk

Additional resources for the development of agriculture, stimulation of economic activity of the population, support of civil initiatives.

These issues were discussed at the eighth extraordinary session of the Regional Council of Deputies of the 29th convocation.

"Now the harvesting work is being completed, the sowing campaign is underway, and for their successful implementation, it is necessary to make a number of adjustments to the budget," said Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies, opening the meeting.

The deputies decided to allocate additional resources to the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee for the implementation of reclamation work on the restoration of reclaimed land in the amount of 3 million rubles, to subsidize the current activities of agricultural producers and the purchase of fuels and lubricants - 5 million rubles, the same amount - for the purchase of fuel. Part of the funds will be used to pay for a set of works on liming acidic soils.

Thanks to the adjustments, it is planned to fulfill the targets of the regional set of measures for the implementation of the State Program "Agricultural Business" for 2021-2025, to successfully complete the harvesting and sowing campaigns.

Funds will also be found for material support of citizens during the period of job search and for the organization of temporary employment of about 500 minors in their free time.

At the extraordinary session, the results of the preliminary consideration of projects of civil initiatives aimed at improving life in small towns and settlements were discussed. The deputies voted to send socially significant projects to the Vitebsk Regional Association of Local Councils of Deputies for their open competitive selection.

"The topic of the implementation of civil initiatives is quite topical," said the head of the regional deputy corps. "It is necessary to make every effort to ensure that we do what we have planned by the end of the year. People need it. And today it is necessary to put forward new ideas to improve the life of the population in order to actively continue this useful work in 2025.

For 2024, about 30 thousand rubles are provided to finance civil initiatives from all regions of the Vitebsk region. Out of 23 projects, 17 can be implemented this year.
