This is not the only award of the collective, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary of creative activity. During this time, the choir received recognition, visited with concerts abroad, and most importantly, the Vitebsk audience fell in love with it.
The choir under the direction of the talented conductor Mark Mirotin began its activities in 1984.
For a quarter of a century, the team has been led by a graduate of the Belarusian State Conservatory, an excellent musician and teacher Tatyana Zhukova. Under her wing, both people who are not indifferent to choral singing, and professionals with more than 30 years of stage experience perform.
— I became a manager in 1998. The first concerts were part of the general programs, and the team prepared a large solo performance for the 200th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin in 1999," said Tatyana Zhukova.
The Folk Chamber Choir is a collective with an academic manner of performance. Its repertoire includes works of sacred music, Russian and foreign composers, modern authors, arrangements of folk songs.
Over the years, the folk chamber choir has visited different cities of Russia, Belarus, Germany, Holland and Latvia. The fame of the team has long gone beyond the regional center. The choir twice became a prize-winner of the International Festival of Orthodox Chants in Minsk, was a laureate of the V International Festival of Instrumental and Vocal Creativity "Glory, Glinka", the International Festival-Competition "Art Parade in Vitebsk". Now the choir has grandiose plans.
"We will definitely take part in the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People. This is our tradition. We will not miss the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", we will perform at the street art festival "On the Seven Winds", said Tatyana Zhukova.
