Representatives of the tourism industry of Uzbekistan will visit the Brest region on May 17-18, BelTA learned from the press service of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
The delegation includes representatives of the Tourism Committee under
the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of
Uzbekistan and tour operators.
"This is the first visit. We need to visit each other often.
Belarus is a beautiful country. Uzbekistan and Belarus are friendly countries.
It's one thing to know about it, another thing is to see it with your own
eyes," said Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the
Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan.
According to Vadim Kravchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional
Executive Committee, the region pays great attention to the development of the
tourism industry. The infrastructure is improving; the number of tourist sites
is growing. The priority areas are historical and cultural, health tourism,
agroecotourism. The region contributes to the development of MICE, industrial
and gastronomic tourism.
"Domestic tourism is gaining momentum in our country. There are
quite a lot of interesting places in the Brest region. The biggest attractions
are, of course, the Brest Fortress and Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Many people fall
in love with the Kossovsky Palace. Our sanatoriums are in high demand due to
their quality and affordable prices. Medical tourism has become very popular
among foreigners," Vadim Kravchuk listed.
Guests from Uzbekistan visited the Ruzhany health resort, where they got
acquainted with the list of health and recreation services. They also visited
the Sapieh Ruzhansky Palace and the Kossovsky Palace Park. The program of the
Uzbek delegation's visit also includes excursions to the city of Brest, the
Brest Hero Fortress and Belovezhskaya Pushcha. Guests will also feel the flavor
of outdoor recreation in the countryside by visiting one of the estates in the
Kamenetsky district.
Belarus and Uzbekistan are committed to developing close cooperation in the field of tourism.
