My priority task is to prevent Belarus from being dragged into war, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during his meeting with residents of the agro-town of Parokhonsk on 4 October, BelTA has learned.

“We should realize that we are almost at the front line: there is a war raging very close by, just behind the fence. My priority task is to prevent Belarus from being dragged into this fight, into this war,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Everyone understands perfectly well that we are on Russia's side. As far as possible, without fighting, we are helping Russia and will continue to do so. It is our ally.”
