MOSCOW, 2 June (BelTA) - Integration processes in the Belarus-Russia Union State are developing very effectively, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk told the media following a high-level meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers in Moscow on 2 June, BelTA has learned. Alexey Overchuk and Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi are co-chairmen of the group.
“The integration processes in the Union State are developing very effectively; we can see it also from the content of the high-level group agenda and the frequency of meetings of our prime ministers and heads of state. This all shows that the integration process is really underway, trade is growing, and we are implementing joint import substitution projects,” the Russian deputy prime minister said.
“Today we took a look at micro-level issues (there are problems of mutual settlements of specific enterprises) and more global issues. There are issues related to the promotion and creation of conditions for the development of new competitive products, including in medicine. The agenda is broad, but it also shows the breadth and closeness of the ties between our countries and our peoples. Today there was a new filling of the agenda connected with some social issues and at the end of the meeting we came to the conclusion that many issues do not wait for our regular face to face high-level meetings and can be solved more quickly,” Alexey Overchuk said.
“Everything indicates that there is great interest in the development of relations on both sides, and the important thing is that we have the results,” the Russian deputy prime minister said.
