The main functions and tasks of the sector:

The main tasks of the sector are:
- implementation of the state policy in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism in the Chashniksky district;
- Ensuring the implementation in the Chashniksky district of the activities of state programs in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism;
- introduction into practice of a science-based system of physical education and health improvement of the population, development of children's and youth sports, coordination of physical culture and health-improving work among people with disabilities and people with health problems;
- organization and holding of district, regional and republican sports and tourist events;
- promotion of physical culture, sports and tourism, healthy lifestyle;
- assistance to public associations for physical culture, sports and tourism in their activities;
- organization of work to strengthen, develop and update the material and technical base of physical culture, sports and tourism;
- development within its competence of international cooperation in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism;
- monitoring compliance with the legislation on physical culture, sports and tourism on the territory of the Chashnikovsky district.

The sector, in order to fulfill the tasks assigned to it, performs the following functions:
- provides organizational and methodological management of the activities of subordinate organizations;
- coordinates and exercises control over the implementation of the district calendar of sports and recreation, mass sports and sports events;
- carries out work on the selection of personnel, advanced training and retraining of personnel and their certification, forms a personnel reserve;
- creates in the Chashniksky district the necessary conditions for the functioning of the system of physical culture, sports and tourism;
- organizes the implementation of activities of state programs in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism;
- develops and submits for approval in accordance with the established procedure regional sets of measures for the implementation of state programs in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism in the Chashniksky district, coordinates their implementation;
- in accordance with the established procedure, manages subordinate organizations, manages their property;
- within its competence, assigns sports categories in the prescribed manner, awards medals, tokens, badges, prizes and certificates to winners and prize-winners of regional, regional, republican and international sports events, competitions;
- submits, in accordance with the established procedure, documents for the assignment of sports categories and titles to the Department of Sports and Tourism;
- develops and approves regional calendar plans for holding sports and mass sports events, training camps and participation of the teams of the Chashniksky district in regional, republican, international events, including sports and recreation, tourism;
- ensures the holding of district, regional, republican and international sports and mass sports events, district training camps, coordinates them;
- conducts physical culture and health-improving and mass sports work with disabled people together with the Paralympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, organizations of physical culture and sports, other organizations operating in the field of physical culture and sports;
- manages the preparation of the sports reserve, controls the organization of the training process in subordinate organizations;
- coordinates and directs sports and health-improving work with the population;
- takes measures to strengthen the material and technical base for physical culture, sports and tourism;
- submits state, statistical and accounting reports to the relevant authorities;
- organizes control over the effective use of physical culture and sports facilities;
- considers appeals of citizens, including individual entrepreneurs, and legal entities on issues within the competence of the sector;
- ensures the implementation of administrative procedures;
- organizes work to create safe working conditions in subordinate organizations;
- develops and submits, in accordance with the established procedure, draft decisions of the Chashniky District Council of Deputies and the district executive committee, orders of the chairman of the district executive committee on issues within his competence;
- organizes work to create safe working conditions in subordinate organizations;
- performs other functions in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and decisions of the district executive committee.

In modern socio-economic conditions, mass physical education, sports and tourism are becoming increasingly important.

Great importance is attached to physical education, sports and health improvement of the population in the Chashniksky district. Mass sports and health-improving work is carried out both among the population at the place of residence and in labor collectives.

Programs for the development of physical culture, sports and tourism have been developed and are being implemented in the district, various industry sports days are held: summer, winter, among children and adolescents, pre-conscription and draft youth, city and village councils, enterprises and organizations, there are programs and events that promote healthy Lifestyle.

The sports and tourism sector, together with specialized sports institutions, trade unions and amateur associations, annually holds more than 100 sports and sports events included in the calendar plans of mass sports and recreational activities of the district. Our teams and individual citizens participate in championships in athletics, football, volleyball, basketball, futsal, table tennis, chess, checkers, kettlebell lifting, winter and summer sports days, sports festivals, rallies, competitions, tourist routes.

Active participants in the sports life of the district are the labor collectives of the department of internal affairs of the Chashnikovsky district executive committee, the Lukomlskaya GRES branch of RUE Vitebskenergo, the Krasnaya Zvezda Paper Mill branch of Svetlogorsk TsKK OJSC, the education department, the branch of RPU Lukomlraigas.

The sports industry of the district is represented by the following institutions - the educational and sports institution "Chashniki District Children's and Youth Sports School" (Chashniki), the institution "District Physical Education and Sports Club "Skina" (Chashniki).

On the basis of sports and educational institutions, on a paid basis, there are sports and recreation groups, groups of "Health", general physical training. Fans of musical accompaniment are given the opportunity to do fitness.

In the winter recreational season, skating rinks located at the stadiums of schools in the cities of Chashniki and Novolukoml are open for those who like to skate. Hockey fans are given the opportunity to participate in tours at the hockey rinks (Chashniki, Sovetskaya st., 71a and Novolukoml, Naberezhnaya st., 2).

In the winter season, sports equipment rental points (skates, skis) operate at the following addresses: Chashniki, st. Soviet, 71; st. Soviet, 59; Novolukoml, st. Embankment, 2, district schools.
