The spiritual bowl of heritage is great: rivers, lakes, forests, arable land - everything that we inherited from our ancestors; all that is called Motherland. Remarkable people live in Chashnichchyna - kind, energetic, hospitable. Among them are many world-famous scientists, writers, public figures, artists and poets.

The region has a special aura of openness, benevolence, respect for people whose hardworking hands grow bread, build houses, create material and spiritual benefits, carefully and reverently treat their historical, spiritual and cultural heritage. These are enduring values.

The nature of the Chashnik region is amazing and beautiful. Winding ribbons of rivers, blue windows of lakes, springs with clean and cool water, bright birch groves, forests in which tall trees talk to the sky... About the eternal...

The noise of historical winds is still heard on this land. Here mounds, settlements, former estates, ruins of religious buildings, obelisks keep their legends, memories of the past. They have become interesting and significant chapters in the annals of the history of Belarus.

Forests in the Chashniksky district occupy 24% of the territory. Most of the forests (60% - coniferous, 10% - deciduous, the rest - mixed), where such species of wild animals as the wolf, lynx, fox, raccoon dog, beaver, elk, roe deer, white hare, hare live freely , marten, squirrel, polecat, etc. The highest point of the region is Mount Spasskaya, located 2 km east of the village of Dobromysl (256 meters above sea level), the lowest point is located west of the village of Demidovichi, near the river Ulla .

The rivers Ulla, Usveyka, Lukomka, Svechanka, Khotinka, Bayna, Essa, Yugna flow through the region. On the territory of the district there are 70 water bodies with a total area of 62.6 sq. km. The largest lake is Lukomlskoye (36.7 sq. km.). The greatest depth is 11.5 meters, the second largest lake is Zherenskoe. Its area is 8.74 sq. km.

There are 44 archaeological, historical and cultural monuments on the territory of the district, including 16 of republican significance, 4 ecological reserves, where plants listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus grow.

Chashniki district is located in the south of the Vitebsk region and covers an area of 1.5 thousand square kilometers. It borders on the Beshenkovichi, Lepel, Senno districts of the Vitebsk region and the Krupsky and Borisov districts of the Minsk region.

Highways pass through the territory of the district: Bocheikovo - Beaver - Bobruisk and Orsha - Lepel ( as well as a railway branch of a similar direction).

The remoteness of the regional center from Vitebsk is 95 km, from Minsk - 188 km.

On the territory of the district there are 2 cities: Chashniki and Novolukoml.
